When Venancio Oxel fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Heráclito Fobal Clú's protests and gave Venancio Oxel a yellow card for diving instead. After 14 played minutes Heráclito Fobal Clú got a freekick which was hit by Venancio Oxel. In the 17th match minute, Platense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radoslaw Dlugi to maneuver through the defense. With 26 minutes on the clock, Aaron Aimar commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. A collision led to Platense getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. The supporters of Heráclito Fobal Clú booed when Platense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristobal Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball.

In the 75th minute Radoslaw Dlugi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulises Telo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulises Telo came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Platense's Cristobal Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristobal Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Heráclito Fobal Clú's Ulises Telo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristobal Sancho in the 81st minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Paulino Luzea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ulises Telo. Heráclito Fobal Clú's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulino Luzea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0.
