The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquin Erauso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Oscar Gamus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Erauso having to interfere. Joaquin Erauso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Gamus in the 42nd minute of play. Saturnino Ioritz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baldomiro Perico in the 44th minute. When Oscar Gamus came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the LEONIDAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Gamus couldn't finish the play. After having played for 48 minutes, Ambrosio Ciceron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LEONIDAS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ambrosio Ciceron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
