They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lisandro Poncio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Angelino Astudillo was a little too slow when Teofilo Gasteiz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-6. In the 56th minute, ESTUDIANTES L.P.'s Benito Ubarna seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Benito Ubarna the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of ESTUDIANTES L.P. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Benito Ubarna had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The crowd rose to their feet as Teofilo Gasteiz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Angelino Astudillo. That made the score 0-7 in the 59 minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Teofilo Gasteiz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Angelino Astudillo. ESTUDIANTES L.P.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Teofilo Gasteiz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. Florentino Abeita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evelio Frichoso having to interfere. When Florentino Abeita came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the ESTUDIANTES L.P. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florentino Abeita couldn't finish the play. 78 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES L.P.'s goalkeeper Angelino Astudillo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Santo Kaxen. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santo Kaxen got free with Angelino Astudillo in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Carmelo Claus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gardey's supporters rose to their feet, but Carmelo Claus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelino Astudillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 97 minutes, Angelino Astudillo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
