When Erik Mykland fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sorocayense FC's protests and gave Erik Mykland a yellow card for diving instead. After 8 played minutes Sorocayense FC got a freekick which was hit by Erik Mykland. In the 10th minute, Efrain Garci made a precise shot to the right of Americo Atarrabi. Sorocayense FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Delmar Naldo charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delmar Naldo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sorocayense FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Delmar Naldo hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erik Mykland got free with Esteve Ponce in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Esteve Ponce made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erik Mykland in the 31st minute. In the 35th minute, Erik Mykland made a precise shot to the right of Esteve Ponce. Sublime's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 43 minutes into the game, one of Sublime:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Efrain Garci to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sublime's goalkeeper Esteve Ponce, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 54th minute, Erik Mykland left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sorocayense FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 57th minute Enzo Juvenal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteve Ponce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 58 minutes, Erik Mykland made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Sublime's Esteve Ponce tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Sorocayense FC's Rogelio Tomi was substituted for Enzo Juvenal. After a defensive mix-up in Sublime's zone, Rogelio Tomi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Esteve Ponce came out of the goal and Rogelio Tomi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Sublime getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Atilano Tome hit a great ball. Esteve Ponce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Tomi in the 70th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Efrain Garci left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sublime fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. Esteve Ponce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogelio Tomi, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After a rather tough play, Sublime's Atilano Tome got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 85th minute, Alfredo Efren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Erik Mykland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Esteve Ponce was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. In the 93rd minute, Erik Mykland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 95 minutes into the game, Sorocayense FC's Erik Mykland nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Esteve Ponce made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-2. When the referee ended the match the Sorocayense FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
