In the 40th minute Venancio Carlomagno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Cutberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arturo Cutberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Farias in the 43rd minute of play. Francisco Hermon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Venancio Carlomagno hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Sportivo Desamparados defense, Francisco Hermon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gonzalo Guzman. The Sportivo Desamparados fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gonzalo Guzman should have stopped the shot. 71 minutes into the game, Leonel Erramun threw the ball into play from the sideline. Gómez FC's Santiago Llorienzo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Gonzalo Guzman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisco Hermon's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Gonzalo Guzman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Hermon in the 74th minute of the match. Leonides Monico received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Arturo Cutberto came out and tried to block the shot, but Leonides Monico slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 96th minute.
