Gilberto Mino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Fagondo in the 27th minute of play. Fausto Chucho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zelipe Cabrera went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 37 minutes into the match, Enzo Janpier had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilberto Mino. Merlo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enzo Janpier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 40 minutes into the match, athletic A's goal looked a bit too open when Zelipe Cabrera came free, but Fausto Chucho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Merlo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
