Alejandro Luke hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Generoso Tiso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filomeno Naike having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cipriano Galsino got free with Donato Abalos in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The wind increased when Reynaldo Gelmiro made the kick off in the second half. Donato Abalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evelio Oso in the 52nd minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Brasil 1970's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquin Aritza came free, but Filomeno Naike reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Brasil 1970 getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Evelio Oso hit a great ball. Defensoria de Lanus's Donato Abalos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Galsino in the 60th minute of play. If Cipriano Galsino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Defensoria de Lanus's Luisito Vargas got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Donato Abalos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Gelmiro in the 79th minute of the match. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Donato Abalos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Aquiles Ralondo took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Donato Abalos. Donato Abalos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0.
