With his leg Godfredo James managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Churqui's Javier Martxelin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 10 minutes into the match, Nelson's goalkeeper Godfredo James had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Javier Martxelin. Godfredo James made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorio Firmo in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to Nelson getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Martin Rutenio hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciriaco Fagildo in the 17th minute of play forced Nelson's goalkeeper Godfredo James to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th match minute, Nelson was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristobal Omero to maneuver through the defense. Churqui's Hermengildo Pero shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 18th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Godfredo James but with some difficulty. After 19 minutes, Javier Martxelin made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Nelson's Godfredo James tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Honorio Firmo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Javier Martxelin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Godfredo James tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evelio Vellito's late challenge caught a Churqui's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evelio Vellito helped the player get up and apologised. Javier Martxelins short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Godfredo James to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Javier Martxelin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Godfredo James made an important save on a dangerous shot by Javier Martxelin in the 34th minute. If Javier Martxelin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godfredo James made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Paulino Milio sent off a good shot on target. Feliberto Inocente kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. When Honorio Firmo came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Churqui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Honorio Firmo couldn't finish the play. Desiderio Elodio's late challenge caught a Churqui's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Desiderio Elodio helped the player get up and apologised. Desiderio Elodio kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Martxelin in the 55th minute of play forced Nelson's goalkeeper Godfredo James to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Javier Martxelin in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Godfredo James saved Nelson from getting behind. Godfredo James showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Martxelin, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Churqui's Zacarias Oinatz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Churqui from getting a goal against them. After 62 minutes of play, Churqui's Honorio Firmo made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Godfredo James was left in no man's land by his defense there! Javier Martxelin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godfredo James having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Javier Martxelin notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Nelson's Godfredo James. Godfredo James was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Javier Martxelin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 74 played minutes Nelson got a freekick which was hit by Evelio Vellito. In the 76th minute, Cristobal Omero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Javier Martxelin charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Javier Martxelin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Churqui getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Javier Martxelin hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honorio Firmo in the 79th minute of play forced Nelson's goalkeeper Godfredo James to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Nelson's zone, Javier Martxelin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Godfredo James came out of the goal and Javier Martxelin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute Honorio Firmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godfredo James saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Javier Martxelin struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Godfredo James didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Churqui. An unexpected shot in the 90th minute by Feliberto Inocente got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The audience was convinced that Javier Martxelin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Godfredo James was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. 97 minutes into the game, Cristobal Omero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nelson's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Churqui the free kick. Cristobal Omero hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. When the referee ended the match the Churqui players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
