The referee ignored Ibarlucea's protests and gave Delmiro Restu a yellow card for diving instead. Faustino Sansone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guaberto Handi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Cucao, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Godfredo Ofelio fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ibarlucea's protests and gave Godfredo Ofelio a yellow card for diving instead. Victor Mikeldi was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Alberto Eguntsenti. After 24 played minutes Ibarlucea got a freekick which was hit by Delmiro Restu. A collision led to Ibarlucea getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Gabriel Cucao hit a great ball. Faustino Sansone did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Victor Mikeldi 34 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Faustino Sansone's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victor Mikeldi was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Ibarlucea defense, Felipe Piorno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Victor Mikeldi. The Ibarlucea fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victor Mikeldi should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gabriel Cucao made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Godfredo Ofelio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 52nd minute, Alberto Eguntsenti sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ibarlucea's Victor Mikeldi didn't even have to move. Victor Mikeldi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustino Sansone in the 54th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Piorno in the 59th minute of play forced Ibarlucea's goalkeeper Victor Mikeldi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Fabio Valery managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goyeneche FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabio Valery was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victor Mikeldi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Goyeneche FC's Guaberto Handi got control of the ball when Gabriel Cucao tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Jesus Lehior fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ibarlucea's protests and gave Jesus Lehior a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustino Sansone in the 77th minute of play forced Ibarlucea's goalkeeper Victor Mikeldi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Faustino Sansone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ibarlucea's Victor Mikeldi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustino Sansone in the 84th minute of play. In the 84th minute of the game, Amador Sazon landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 84 minutes into the game, Teofilo Larra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ibarlucea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goyeneche FC the free kick. Fabio Valery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Mikeldi having to interfere. Felipe Piorno struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Victor Mikeldi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goyeneche FC. Goyeneche FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
