With a little luck, Pain Of Salvation's Enzo Llanos got control of the ball when Juan Pereyra tried to sneak it across the goal line. A throw-in in the 11th minute of the game was made by Edgardo Oliverios with Celedonio Urdin as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After 16 played minutes Pain Of Salvation got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Sandalio. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaston Justin in the 22nd minute of play forced Petroquímica's goalkeeper Igor Austin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Petroquímica defense, Julio Ieltxu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Igor Austin. The Petroquímica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Igor Austin should have stopped the shot. Enzo Llanos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Juan Pereyra showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 30 minute of play. If Gaston Justin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aurelio Cordario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Igor Austin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Petroquímica's goalkeeper Igor Austin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Igor Austin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Justin in the 45th minute of play.

Enzo Llanos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celedonio Urdin, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. If Gaston Justin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Pain Of Salvation booed when Petroquímica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgardo Oliverios didn't get a good kick on the ball. Everardo Oidor kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Everardo Oidor in the 64th minute of play forced Pain Of Salvation's goalkeeper Enzo Llanos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Pain Of Salvation's Julio Ieltxu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Igor Austin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Juan Pereyra fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Petroquímica's protests and gave Juan Pereyra a yellow card for diving instead. Gaston Justin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 71 minutes in the game, Gaston Justin fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Igor Austin having to interfere. A throw-in in the 73rd minute of the game was made by Edgardo Oliverios with Everardo Oidor as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After a defensive mix-up in Petroquímica's zone, Gaston Justin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Austin came out of the goal and Gaston Justin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gaston Justin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Austin having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Edgardo Oliverios in the 82nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Pain Of Salvation's Julio Ieltxu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaston Justin in the 83rd minute of play forced Petroquímica's goalkeeper Igor Austin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celedonio Urdin kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Julio Ieltxu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Austin having to interfere. Gaston Justin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Igor Austin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Gaston Justin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pain Of Salvation's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaston Justin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Igor Austin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
