Antiguyo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justo Polo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Justo Polo got free with Anier Nardo in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ladislao Ikatz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Ikatz in the 44th minute of play forced Antiguyo's goalkeeper Roberto Santio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute of the match Filomeno Seme shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anier Nardo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cayetano Medardo made a kick off. Cayetano Medardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Leopoldo Guillen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anier Nardo having to make a save. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
