Ciriaco Quin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elvio Santio having to interfere. Elvio Santio made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Ciriaco Quin sent off a good shot on target. Ciriaco Quins short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Elvio Santio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 9th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severino Urbasa to maneuver through the defense. Elvio Santio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Oxel in the 13th minute of the match. Felipe Orlanda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaspar Rios, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Emanuel Oxel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Guiñazú booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorio Guillen didn't get a good kick on the ball. River Plate's Elvio Santio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Oxel in the 25th minute of play. If Emanuel Oxel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the game, Emanuel Oxel lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Elvio Santio. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Gaspar Rios managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaspar Rios was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felipe Orlanda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciriaco Quin got free with Elvio Santio in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ciriaco Quin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emanuel Oxels short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Elvio Santio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 42nd minute, Horacio Rami hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute of the match Silverio Chinto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Felipe Orlanda showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 45th minute, Roman Celipe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, River Plate's Silverio Chinto tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaspar Rios stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Emanuel Oxel struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Elvio Santio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guiñazú. Agustin Cresenciano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 61 minutes, Gaspar Rios mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the River Plate and the Guiñazú players grew even worse after the yellow card. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elvio Santio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elvio Santio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciriaco Quin in the 73rd minute of play. Elvio Santio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emanuel Oxel's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Victorio Guillen hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Emanuel Oxel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Elvio Santio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emanuel Indartsu's late challenge caught a River Plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guiñazú's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
