Simplemente's Zeledon Larra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braulio Crescencio in the 21st minute of play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Acuña's goalkeeper Marcelino Turi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A hard shot 40 in the game by Domingos Pabla from a close distance when the talented Marcelino Turi managed to make a qualified save. Acuña's players were relieved. Braulio Crescencio struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Zeledon Larra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Acuña. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Israel Ferdinand managed to get in a good position for a shot. Acuña's supporters rose to their feet, but Israel Ferdinand was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeledon Larra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Israel Ferdinand to make the kick off. Marcelino Turi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Domingos Pabla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Simplemente were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Acuña for a fine match.
