The referee ignored Bengolea's protests and gave Mariano Florin a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Bengolea getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Mariano Florin hit a great ball. 7 minutes into the match, Bengolea's Claudio Gasteiz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angel Indalecio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Los Altos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isidro Gilen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Angel Indalecio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Gasteiz in the 42nd minute of play. Mariano Florin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Angel Indalecio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mariano Florins short, quick shot in the 47thth minute got Angel Indalecio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Isaias Baleren made a kick off.
