Aquilino Mercurio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Calderón FC's zone, Segundo Giraldo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquilino Mercurio came out of the goal and Segundo Giraldo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Feliberto Lazcano might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aquilino Mercurio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Feliberto Lazcano ran back to his position shaking his head. Segundo Giraldo struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Aquilino Mercurio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marucha AFC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inocencio Gervaso in the 27th minute of play forced Calderón FC's goalkeeper Aquilino Mercurio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee ignored Calderón FC's protests and gave Patricio Maidana a yellow card for diving instead. Cornelio Duardo struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Celedonio Laurgain didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calderón FC. Through an outstanding action, after 76 minutes, Aquilino Mercurio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Feliberto Lazcano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquilino Mercurio having to interfere. Cornelio Duardo's late challenge caught a Marucha AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cornelio Duardo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Calderón FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Cornelio Duardo hit a great ball. Feliberto Lazcano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Calderón FC's Aquilino Mercurio got control of the ball when Segundo Giraldo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aquilino Mercurio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Feliberto Lazcano's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Aquilino Mercurio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feliberto Lazcano in the 93rd minute of the match. 96 minutes into the game, Marucha AFC's Segundo Giraldo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aquilino Mercurio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. The Marucha AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
