Angelo Transito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 14 minutes into the match, Caroequi's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeo Ponce came free, but Angelo Transito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lisandro Nafarroa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute Amadeo Ponce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Transito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Silvano Savion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvano Savion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Sarmiento getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Gervasio Florian hit a great ball. When Arnoldo Estevon fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caroequi's protests and gave Arnoldo Estevon a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Sarmiento booed when Caroequi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnoldo Estevon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Sarmiento's Lisandro Mancio tried to score from far away in the 35th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Amadeo Ponce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Goren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Sarmiento's goalkeeper Bernabe Llorienzo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arnoldo Estevon got his second yellow card in the match during the 59th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 60th match minute, Caroequi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnoldo Estevon to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Caroequi's zone, Amadeo Ponce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelo Transito came out of the goal and Amadeo Ponce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lisandro Nafarroa got free with Angelo Transito in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, German Quilino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caroequi's supporters rose to their feet, but German Quilino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernabe Llorienzo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 80 minutes into the match, Caroequi's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeo Ponce came free, but Angelo Transito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teobaldo Rexino hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Urbano Munio during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 83rd minute of the game. One of Caroequi:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sarmiento:s goal. With a little luck, Caroequi's Angelo Transito got control of the ball when Lisandro Nafarroa tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Gervasio Florian managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sarmiento's supporters rose to their feet, but Gervasio Florian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelo Transito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
