After having played for 34 minutes, Roque Garin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BRASIL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roque Garin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
