After the first half Castaño were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Vicente Arias came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Castaño fans jumped to their feet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Larpe in the 71st minute of play forced Castaño's goalkeeper Fausto Oliverios to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodrigo Larpe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Oliverios having to interfere. Vicente Arias might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aquilino Marques. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vicente Arias ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Alita de Mosca FC's zone, Vicente Arias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquilino Marques came out of the goal and Vicente Arias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Alita de Mosca FC's Aquilino Marques got control of the ball when Honorato Fliz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vicente Arias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Aquilino Marques made a huge save. Vicente Arias might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aquilino Marques. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vicente Arias ran back to his position shaking his head. If Apolo Polentzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aquilino Marques made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Vicente Arias sent off a good shot on target. Castaño were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
