Saturnino Bembe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Remigio Lander to make the kick off. Torrent AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuel Basualdo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Remigio Lander struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Saturnino Bembe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Torrent AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Emanuel Basualdo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saturnino Bembe came out of the goal and Emanuel Basualdo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ladislao Beti's late challenge caught a Torrent AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ladislao Beti helped the player get up and apologised. In the 86th match minute, Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ladislao Beti to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Zacarias Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Zacarias Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Segundo Soter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Apolo Llorenc hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Despite being the better team, Torrent AFC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
