Rigoberto Iliana kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Anier Maura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caldenadas FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Anier Maura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mariano Lastur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Uriel Alfonso struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Mariano Lastur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caldenadas FC. Rigoberto Quico took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hilario Odilon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angel Nesor's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Rigoberto Quico skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Uriel Alfonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Mariano Lastur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uriel Alfonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rigoberto Quico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Caldenadas FC's Clemente Otoniel got a free kick in the 34th minute. If Uriel Alfonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 38 played minutes Caldenadas FC got a freekick which was hit by Dalmacio Teofilio. The supporters of Animaná AFC booed when Caldenadas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Harri didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute of the match Animaná AFC got a corner. Caldenadas FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Basilio Indar ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Basilio Indar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Caldenadas FC's Rigoberto Quico did a great save. Hilario Odilon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Rigoberto Quico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

If Angel Nesor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Clemente Otoniel fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caldenadas FC's protests and gave Clemente Otoniel a yellow card for diving instead. Basilio Indar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rigoberto Quico. Caldenadas FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Hilario Odilon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Animaná AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hilario Odilon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rigoberto Quico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Odilon in the 77th minute of play. Clemente Otoniel hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 82nd play minute Anier Maura came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Mariano Lastur. 1-2. Anier Maura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Lastur having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Nesor in the 95th minute of play forced Caldenadas FC's goalkeeper Rigoberto Quico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Caldenadas FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Caldenadas FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
