After recieving a nice pass, Social y Deportivo's Ermegildo Gaitan tried to score from far away in the 12th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 15 minutes into the match, Social y Deportivo's goal looked a bit too open when Iker Iaki came free, but Urbano Donostia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mario Uhin struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Benigno Mancio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Social y Deportivo. Benigno Mancio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jairo Frascuelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Mario Uhin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benigno Mancio. Dep. Toqueteo Intenso's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mario Uhin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Maximo Ereinotz's late challenge caught a Dep. Toqueteo Intenso's goalkeeper Benigno Mancio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Urbano Donostia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramiro Goyo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Social y Deportivo's zone, Iker Iaki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Urbano Donostia came out of the goal and Iker Iaki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Iker Iaki made the kick off in the second half. Benigno Mancio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mario Uhin's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. When Jairo Frascuelo came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Social y Deportivo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jairo Frascuelo couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute there was a penalty for Dep. Toqueteo Intenso. Valentin Santxol stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Urbano Donostia. 1-1. The audience was convinced that Mario Uhin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benigno Mancio was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Benigno Mancio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
