In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind 11 BASTIAS's goalkeeper Fabio Merexildo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in 11 BASTIAS's zone, Celedonio Izel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Merexildo came out of the goal and Celedonio Izel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nemesio Berasko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Benvide in the 23rd minute of the match. After 32 minutes of play, Escalante FC's Celedonio Izel made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabio Merexildo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Celedonio Izel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cayetano Beltran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Fabio Merexildo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabio Merexildo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cayetano Beltran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Escalante FC were the better team. Escalante FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
