After 7 minutes, Fabricio Rencio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Racing Club and the Ciénaga AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Racing Club's Fabricio Rencio got a free kick in the 8th minute. If Rigoberto Txilar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruben Bibiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anastasio Montrelle in the 12th minute of play. When Aristides Beremundo fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Ruben Bibiano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anastasio Montrelle went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Blas Errando kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Ruben Bibiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anastasio Montrelle in the 43rd minute of play. If Anastasio Montrelle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Ciénaga AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rigoberto Txilar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruben Bibiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rigoberto Txilar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Bibiano having to interfere. Evelio Jaume hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 82nd of the match, Anastasio Montrelle tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Ruben Bibiano got in the way and made a wonderful save. After a rather tough play, Racing Club's Evelio Jaume got a free kick in the 86th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Rigoberto Txilar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ciénaga AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rigoberto Txilar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruben Bibiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ciénaga AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Racing Club.
