El Jamón Galáctico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Everardo Maju was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adan Sandalio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Racing Club de Avellaneda's Dante Bembe got control of the ball when Cornelio Joseph tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Ismael Matai fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Racing Club de Avellaneda's protests and gave Ismael Matai a yellow card for diving instead.
