The audience thought a goal was coming when Pascual Santxol got free with Herminio Tiadoro in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Petroquímica AFC booed when Trongé was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaac Tiadoro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Petroquímica AFC's Reynaldo Urti dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. When Celso Basajaun came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Trongé fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celso Basajaun couldn't finish the play. In the 30thth minute of the game Celso Basajaun who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Petroquímica AFC's Bruno Ofelio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Trongé's goalkeeper Herminio Tiadoro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arnaldo Dalmai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute, Basilio Tome hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Bruno Ofelio managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Trongé's Arnaldo Dalmai fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Trongé's Matias Peter got a free kick in the 65th minute. Petroquímica AFC's Bruno Ofelio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Petroquímica AFC from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Bruno Ofelio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Celso Basajaun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Bruno Ofelio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
