Spectators: 7056 (Terracing: 5400, Seating: 1656, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Gustavo Montrelle got the match started through his kick off. Gustavo Montrelle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Rene Kusko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10thth minute of the game Gustavo Montrelle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Salto's Rene Kusko was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rene Kusko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Ferrando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Honorato Playo kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. If Gustavo Montrelle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rene Kusko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osvaldo Ferrando, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 22nd minute, Ezequiel Tiso reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elpidio Javiero. The goal made the score 1-0. 25 minutes into the match, Gustavo Montrelle notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Salto's Rene Kusko. Rene Kusko was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hospital Español's Gustavo Montrelle got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Salto's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Montrelle came free, but Rene Kusko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Ezequiel Tiso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Salto fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zeledon Mel was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Hospital Español was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Montrelle to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the game, Gustavo Montrelle cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Rene Kusko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hospital Español's Elpidio Javiero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Mel in the 62nd minute of play. Osvaldo Ferrando might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rene Kusko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Osvaldo Ferrando ran back to his position shaking his head. Salto's Rene Kusko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Montrelle in the 68th minute of play. Hospital Español's Elpidio Javiero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Mel in the 69th minute of play. After 69 minutes of play, Salto's Zeledon Mel made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elpidio Javiero was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 80th minute, Zeledon Mel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 85 in the game by Osvaldo Ferrando from a close distance when the talented Rene Kusko managed to make a qualified save. Salto's players were relieved. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zeledon Mel in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elpidio Javiero saved Hospital Español from getting behind. Victor Micael kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Elpidio Javiero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Mel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ezequiel Tiso in the 92nd minute of play forced Hospital Español's goalkeeper Elpidio Javiero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Osvaldo Ferrando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Honorato Playo charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Honorato Playo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 96 played minutes Salto got a freekick which was hit by Honorato Playo. Many of Hospital Español's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Hospital Español may have spent more time on the ball, but Salto were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
