Baibiene's Primitivo Lugo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Urtats in the 13th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Filiberto Orlanda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Baibiene's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gimnasia LP the free kick. In the 21st minute, Filiberto Orlanda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Gimnasia LP defense, Alejo Lucado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonides Bordat. The Gimnasia LP fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonides Bordat should have stopped the shot. 40 minutes into the match, Gimnasia LP's goal looked a bit too open when Damaso Gregory came free, but Leonides Bordat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alejo Lucado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Damaso Gregory fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonides Bordat having to interfere. Baibiene's Alejo Lucado got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baibiene's Primitivo Lugo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro Perico in the 71st minute of play. After 80 minutes of play, Gimnasia LP's Lisandro Perico made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Primitivo Lugo was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpected shot in the 84th minute by Damaso Gregory got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Baibiene's Alejo Lucado suffered a sore thigh after 86 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 86 minutes into the game, Celso Lixandro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
