Morrillo AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Victor Ponce scored to the left of an out of position Efrain Iratxo, making the score, 1-0. If Victor Ponce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 28 minutes, Ezequiel Ulizes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Progreso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ezequiel Ulizes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Progreso's Ezequiel Ulizes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Efrain Iratxo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ezequiel Ulizes kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 33rdth minute. Though ot was a great shot Morrillo AFC's keeper Efrain Iratxo was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Saturnino Omero's late challenge caught a Progreso's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saturnino Omero helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 35 minutes, Victor Ponce managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 43rd minute, Eusebio Maria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Damian Quintan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Justino Furtado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. If Damian Quintan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When Ezequiel Ulizes came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Progreso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ezequiel Ulizes couldn't finish the play. After 54th play minutes Damian Quintan shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Justino Furtado and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of Progreso booed when Morrillo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaac Gelmiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victor Ponce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute Ezequiel Ulizes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efrain Iratxo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 66 played minutes Morrillo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Melquiades Millan. 66 minutes into the match, Morrillo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Ponce came free, but Efrain Iratxo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Progreso's Victor Ponce sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Efrain Iratxo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 69 minutes into the game, Progreso's Ezequiel Ulizes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Efrain Iratxo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. If Damian Quintan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Rene Quin took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Justino Furtado to make any attempt to save it. Victor Ponce's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Efrain Iratxo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. After some careless play in the Morrillo AFC defense, Victor Ponce kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Efrain Iratxo. The Morrillo AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Efrain Iratxo should have stopped the shot. Ezequiel Ulizes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Efrain Iratxo having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Morrillo AFC's Isaac Gelmiro got a free kick in the 95th minute. The audience was convinced that Victor Ponce's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Efrain Iratxo was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. Progreso walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
