Mariano Erauso came out of the goal and Leon Salvatore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 5th match minute, Banfield Athletic Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saul Abancens to maneuver through the defense. Mariano Erauso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Llorienzo in the 7th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Nequen FC's goalkeeper Rene Raitin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Saul Abancens. Saul Abancens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 16 minutes, Raimundo Dolcet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Banfield Athletic Club and the Nequen FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Raimundo Dolcet hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After having played for 17 minutes, Amancio Inguma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nequen FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amancio Inguma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Igor Rubio got free with Rene Raitin in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Salvatore in the 24th minute of play forced Banfield Athletic Club's goalkeeper Mariano Erauso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Leon Salvatore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mariano Erauso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Salvatore, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 34 minutes into the game, Nequen FC's Leon Salvatore nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mariano Erauso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Moises Llorienzo came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Nequen FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Llorienzo couldn't finish the play. If Leon Salvatore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Saul Abancens stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Nequen FC were awarded a corner. Amancio Inguma went to the cornerflag to take it. Leon Salvatore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Erauso having to interfere. Mariano Erauso made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Moises Llorienzo sent off a good shot on target. Christian Beturian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nequen FC's Rene Raitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saul Abancens in the 76th minute of play. Amancio Inguma ran over to the corner to take the kick. 97 minutes had been played when some careless play by Banfield Athletic Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Amancio Inguma was slow to take the kick. During this time Nequen FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Amancio Inguma almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Banfield Athletic Club's Mariano Erauso did a great save. Nequen FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
