With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Sarracino in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rene Maura saved El Social from getting behind. When Pablo Cesaro fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Concepción's protests and gave Pablo Cesaro a yellow card for diving instead. Pablo Cesaro hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Leonardo Galoer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Maura having to interfere. The supporters of Concepción booed when El Social was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Duardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 19 minutes, Guaberto Buinton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Social's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guaberto Buinton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Precioso in the 31st minute of play forced Concepción's goalkeeper Bernardo Chuse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Concepción's Bernardo Chuse got control of the ball when Guaberto Buinton tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonardo Galoer charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonardo Galoer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 38 played minutes Concepción got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Galoer. Rene Maura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmelo Manex in the 45th minute of play. Guaberto Buinton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Paulo Sarracino made the kick off in the second half. Ivan Precioso might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bernardo Chuse. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ivan Precioso ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Ivan Precioso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernardo Chuse was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. When Concepción's Paulo Sarracino in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. El Social were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Concepción's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eliseo Duardo took the corner. Bernardo Chuse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guaberto Buinton, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Paulo Sarracino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Maura having to interfere. In the 88th minute Guaberto Buinton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Chuse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Sarracino struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Rene Maura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Concepción.
