The supporters of Newells Old Boys booed when Wilsterman was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aldo Turi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cosme Dimo got free with Ambrosio Favila in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Newells Old Boys's Cosme Dimo got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee felt a red card was in order, 20 minutes into the game, when Elvio Pabla put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Newells Old Boys fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aldo Turi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ambrosio Favila showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ambrosio Favila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cosme Dimo in the 96th minute of the match. Chants of Wilsterman echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Newells Old Boys had held the ball for most of the match.
