After recieving a nice pass, Quequén's Edgardo Raulo tried to score from far away in the 27th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, Quequén's Pedro Perico sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnoldo Beat narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rafael Che hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. The supporters of Quequén booed when El cuartito del pepa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgilio Rufo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Pablo Quexal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Quequén were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pablo Quexal to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Fernanco during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to El cuartito del pepa getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Miguel Fernanco hit a great ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pablo Quexal couldn't finish the play. Arnoldo Beat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Perico in the 66th minute. Ruben Mancio was shown his second yellow card after 68 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Pedro Perico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pablo Quexal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Arnoldo Beat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Quequén had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
