In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quijana AFC's goalkeeper Esteban Lucila, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Edgardo Gabon fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quijana AFC's protests and gave Edgardo Gabon a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Quijana AFC's Edgardo Gabon got a free kick in the 20th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Campanas's Arturo Xabier tried to score from far away in the 21st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Campanas's Erasmo Esquipula proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Campanas from getting a goal against them. Quijana AFC's Adolfo Evis got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Campanas's goalkeeper Erasmo Esquipula, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dionisio Botello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Lucila having to interfere. Esteban Lucila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dionisio Botello in the 43rd minute of the match. Dionisio Botello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Adolfo Evis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Erasmo Esquipula breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 56th minute, Adolfo Evis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. One of Campanas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Quijana AFC:s goal. 72 minutes into the match, Domingos Osasun notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Campanas's Erasmo Esquipula. Erasmo Esquipula was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Campanas supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Campanas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
