The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 7th play minutes Tomás Alonso shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Segundo Cambranes and just under the crossbar into goal. If Jonatan Musko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Segundo Cambranes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás Alonso, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 12 played minutes Chacarita Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Quilino. Anibal Cordarin didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 17th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. After having played for 24 minutes, Americo Leocadio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chacarita Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Americo Leocadio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnoldo Galeno's late challenge caught a Ezio Auditore da Firenze's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arnoldo Galeno helped the player get up and apologised. Tomás Alonso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Segundo Cambranes having to make a save. Adolfo Ilixo scored 2-2 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Segundo Cambranes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Anibal Cordarin made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Americo Leocadio sent off a good shot on target. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emiliano Loco to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Ezio Auditore da Firenze's zone, Emiliano Loco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anibal Cordarin came out of the goal and Emiliano Loco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emiliano Loco struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Anibal Cordarin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chacarita Juniors. Americo Leocadio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 76 played minutes, Chacarita Juniors's Ulises Teofilio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anibal Cordarin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chacarita Juniors reached it. If Emiliano Loco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 79 played minutes Jonatan Musko rounded Chacarita Juniors's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-3. Jonatan Musko had several of the Chacarita Juniors's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 89 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-5 score and a disappointed Segundo Cambranes as he didn't even see the shot coming. Anibal Cordarin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Americo Leocadio, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Emiliano Loco struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Anibal Cordarin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chacarita Juniors.
