Lázaro Austin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafino Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 11th minute, Nunez Laffitte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pastor Quirze kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Lisandro Hondo hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 21 played minutes Chañaritos AFC got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Abalos. After 22 played minutes, Sauzales AFC's Pedro Cordarrel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lázaro Austin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sauzales AFC reached it. In the 23rd match minute, Chañaritos AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nunez Laffitte to maneuver through the defense. Guaberto Iraido blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Honorato Arce having to make a save. Lisandro Hondo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sauzales AFC's goalkeeper Honorato Arce, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lázaro Austin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pastor Quirze went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leo Sanson during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lázaro Austin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sauzales AFC. Serafino Furtado was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 78th minute. Sauzales AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Lázaro Austin made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Pastor Quirze sent off a good shot on target. If Guaberto Iraido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sauzales AFC's Honorato Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro Hondo in the 84th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sauzales AFC's zone, Lisandro Hondo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Honorato Arce came out of the goal and Lisandro Hondo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd minute, Nunez Laffitte left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chañaritos AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Chañaritos AFC's Lázaro Austin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Chañaritos AFC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Pastor Quirze managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sauzales AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pastor Quirze was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lázaro Austin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
