Spectators: 6676 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1676, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Zeledon Sindo started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, OMBU Central's goal looked a bit too open when Zeledon Sindo came free, but Carlos Vasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 5 minutes, Hernan Iratzeder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hormiguero's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hernan Iratzeder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hormiguero's goalkeeper Felix Tartalo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carlos Vasco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hernan Iratzeder in the 11th minute. When Omar Vidal came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the OMBU Central fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Omar Vidal couldn't finish the play. After 15 minutes, Omar Vidal made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Hormiguero's Felix Tartalo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hormiguero's Zeledon Sindo got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hernan Iratzeder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Carlos Vasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the game, Hernan Iratzeder cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Carlos Vasco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 27th minute of the match Cosme Pierres sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Vasco skillfully saved the ball. Zeledon Sindo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the game, Braulio Barto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. OMBU Central's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hormiguero the free kick. A collision led to OMBU Central getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Braulio Barto hit a great ball. After 30 minutes of play OMBU Central's Braulio Barto was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Hormiguero booed when OMBU Central was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braulio Barto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Vasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeledon Sindo, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Hernan Iratzeder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Vasco having to interfere. Hernan Iratzeder's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Carlos Vasco skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in OMBU Central's zone, Zeledon Sindo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Vasco came out of the goal and Zeledon Sindo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hormiguero's Zeledon Sindo got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 42nd minute, Orlando Iturri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Omar Vidal was the one to do the kick off. Felix Tartalo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernesto Avellaneda in the 58th minute. Omar Vidal in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Felix Tartalo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of OMBU Central booed when Hormiguero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Chano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Omar Vidal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Felix Tartalo made a huge save. Carlos Vasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Ledesma, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. When Hernan Iratzeder fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hormiguero's protests and gave Hernan Iratzeder a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 played minutes Hormiguero got a freekick which was hit by Hernan Iratzeder. If Zeledon Sindo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 84 minutes, Teofilo Roldan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the OMBU Central and the Hormiguero players grew even worse after the yellow card. Teofilo Roldan hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Urbano Arnas's late challenge caught a OMBU Central's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Urbano Arnas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th minute, Urbano Arnas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Tartalo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Omar Vidal's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. With a little luck, Hormiguero's Felix Tartalo got control of the ball when Omar Vidal tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 95th minute, Omar Vidal made a precise shot to the right of Felix Tartalo. Hormiguero's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
