Carapato's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermengildo Lopez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saturnino Garaile breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gonzalo Lauren hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Hermengildo Lopez struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Saturnino Garaile didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carapato. Carapato's Tomas Nafarroa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robustiano Hernandez in the 17th minute of play. If Hermengildo Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 played minutes El Salmon got a freekick which was hit by Cayetano Abadie. Hermengildo Lopez scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Saturnino Garaile, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With an all-out effort, El Salmon's Tomas Nafarroa threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Robustiano Hernandez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Robustiano Hernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. After having played for 40 minutes, Severo Itzaina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carapato's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severo Itzaina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Severo Itzaina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saturnino Garaile having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermengildo Lopez in the 44th minute of play forced El Salmon's goalkeeper Saturnino Garaile to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hermengildo Lopez took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Saturnino Garaile. Saturnino Garaile dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hermengildo Lopez to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Carapato's zone, Robustiano Hernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomas Nafarroa came out of the goal and Robustiano Hernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. David Iraunkor charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed David Iraunkor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Carapato's David Iraunkor got a free kick in the 55th minute. Honorio Garikoitz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Robustiano Hernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Nafarroa having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Carapato's goal looked a bit too open when Honorio Garikoitz came free, but Tomas Nafarroa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Robustiano Hernandez put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Tomas Nafarroa. When Robustiano Hernandez came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the El Salmon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robustiano Hernandez couldn't finish the play. Carapato's Tomas Nafarroa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robustiano Hernandez in the 92nd minute of play. Leo Bingen kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Honorio Garikoitz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomas Nafarroa was relentless in the 98th minute of the game. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Carapato had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
