Peña's Alfonso Onofre proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Peña from getting a goal against them. After 10 played minutes Peña got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Perez. Alfonso Onofre showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dionisio Madaleno, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After a rather tough play, Boca juniors's Ceferino Berto got a free kick in the 14th minute. Adan Quirze could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Alfonso Onofre made a huge save. Anastasio Mitxel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard Larpe having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Dionisio Madaleno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfonso Onofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 minutes, Fabio Perez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peña and the Boca juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Peña's Fabio Perez got a free kick in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Peña's zone, Adan Quirze stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leo Gudesteo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute of the match, Fabio Perez got a very nice opportunity to score, but Edgard Larpe was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.
