Spectators: 7130 (Terracing: 5457, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 0) Palo's Angelino Bautista started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amadeo Cresenciano in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Santos Rafel saved Palo from getting behind. In the 4th minute, Patricio Edur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Teodoro Bittor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oroño's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodoro Bittor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santos Rafel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Santos Rafel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Bittor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 15th play minutes Teodoro Bittor shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Santos Rafel and just under the crossbar into goal. Enrique Lop stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angelino Bautista's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. 29 minutes into the game, Teodoro Bittor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Santos Rafel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Oroño's Salvador Boniel got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Palo's Patricio Edur couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Oroño. Remigio Abadia's late challenge caught a Palo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Remigio Abadia helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Oroño's Remigio Abadia got a free kick in the 34th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amadeo Cresenciano in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Santos Rafel saved Palo from getting behind. After 38 played minutes Palo got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Frasquito. Amadeo Cresenciano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Rafel having to interfere. Teodoro Bittor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Amadeo Cresenciano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute, Teodoro Bittor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zeledon Viator sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Palo's zone, Amadeo Cresenciano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santos Rafel came out of the goal and Amadeo Cresenciano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Teodoro Bittor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santos Rafel was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Teodoro Bittor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute Zeledon Viator shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Lop saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Palo booed when Oroño was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filomeno Ixidor didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelino Bautista in the 78th minute of play forced Oroño's goalkeeper Enrique Lop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute, Oroño's Teodoro Bittor dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Amadeo Cresenciano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Rafel having to interfere. Santos Rafel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodoro Bittor, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. If Amadeo Cresenciano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute Teodoro Bittor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santos Rafel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Palo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Oroño were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
