The tension between the BBVA and the Ascensión AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of BBVA:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ascensión AFC:s goal. In the 12th minute there was a penalty for Ascensión AFC. Flavio Astrada stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mauricio Galoer. 0-1. Ivan Porfiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Valentin Elazar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roman Iliana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Valentin Elazar made a huge save. 25 minutes into the match, BBVA's goal looked a bit too open when Cosme Blai came free, but Mauricio Galoer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Clemencin in the 26th minute of play forced BBVA's goalkeeper Mauricio Galoer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauricio Galoer came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Ascensión AFC's Rodolfo Clemencin. But to his dismay, Rodolfo Clemencin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivan Porfiro to make the kick off. Mauricio Galoer made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Cosme Blai sent off a good shot on target. 59 minutes into the match, Ascensión AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Porfiro came free, but Valentin Elazar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ascensión AFC's Valentin Elazar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Porfiro in the 66th minute of play. After some careless play in the Ascensión AFC defense, Ivan Porfiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valentin Elazar. The Ascensión AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valentin Elazar should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Ascensión AFC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Rosendo Umea hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ascensión AFC's zone, Ivan Porfiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Elazar came out of the goal and Ivan Porfiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind BBVA's goalkeeper Mauricio Galoer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Valentin Elazar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Porfiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodolfo Clemencin struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Mauricio Galoer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ascensión AFC. Mauricio Galoer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Clemencin, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Cosme Blai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauricio Galoer having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Cosme Blai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mauricio Galoer made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Cosme Blai sent off a good shot on target. If Cosme Blai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ascensión AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
