In the 8th minute Ruperto Nerio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albano Iliana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the game, Ruperto Nerio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Albano Iliana was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Ruperto Nerio came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Quilmes AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruperto Nerio couldn't finish the play. After 23 minutes, Santos Koldobika mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atahualpa Yupanqui and the Quilmes AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elpidio Dino to strike the kick off in the second half. Bartolo Cordaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albano Iliana having to interfere. Quilmes AFC's Arnulfo Cristofor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Dino in the 56th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Jeronimo Frutos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atahualpa Yupanqui's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeronimo Frutos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jeronimo Frutos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Arnulfo Cristofor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 67 minutes, Jeronimo Frutos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atahualpa Yupanqui's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeronimo Frutos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. But to his dismay, Elpidio Dino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Atahualpa Yupanqui's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
