Hungary's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Øyvind Skoglund ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well done corner resulted in Rayko Tzonkin drilling the ball in to score 1-0 behind Hungary's goalkeeper. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rayko Tzonkin got free with Fodor Daniel in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 20 minutes into the match, FC Grivata's goal looked a bit too open when Balazs Lajos came free, but Thomas Sørensen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fodor Daniel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Radowit Ogrodowicz's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After 22 played minutes FC Grivata's Eero Grönholm stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Fodor Daniel stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Hungary of the goal. Fodor Daniel came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by FC Grivata's Radowit Ogrodowicz. After a defensive mix-up in FC Grivata's zone, Major Barna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Sørensen came out of the goal and Major Barna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Grivata's Thomas Sørensen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 39th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Antal Valentin made a precise shot to the right of Thomas Sørensen. FC Grivata's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. FC Grivata's Eero Grönholm got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fodor Daniel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eero Grönholm went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Radowit Ogrodowicz to make the kick off. If Radowit Ogrodowicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, FC Grivata's Thomas Sørensen got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 56th minute, Major Barna made a precise shot to the right of Thomas Sørensen. FC Grivata's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Antal Valentin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thomas Sørensen. That made the score 4-3 in the 75 minute of play. Thomas Sørensen made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Antal Valentin sent off a good shot on target. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hungary's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Øyvind Skoglund was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Grivata's players had a chance to rest. FC Grivata's Eero Grönholm was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fodor Daniel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Major Barna's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Thomas Sørensen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thomas Sørensen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Takacs Tibor in the 90th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, FC Grivata's Rayko Tzonkin got a free kick in the 91st minute. Antal Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Thomas Sørensen made a huge save. Thomas Sørensen made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Antal Valentin sent off a good shot on target. FC Grivata's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Antal Valentin scored to the left of an out of position Thomas Sørensen, making the score, 4-5. Hungary's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
