After a defensive mix-up in Vallecito's zone, Prudencio Ritchie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celestino Bermudez came out of the goal and Prudencio Ritchie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Eugenio Cresenciano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Faustino Millrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mataldi fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! Leopoldo Estebano shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Vallecito's defense didn't have a chance, in the 23rd minute, when Carlos Patxi scored to the left of an out of position Celestino Bermudez, making the score, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Prudencio Ritchie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mataldi's supporters rose to their feet, but Prudencio Ritchie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celestino Bermudez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eugenio Cresenciano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Vallecito's Faustino Millrick in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mataldi's goalie prevented a goal. Prudencio Ritchie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celestino Bermudez was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Carlos Patxi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Carlos Patxi really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Faustino Millrick to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, Mataldi's Carlos Patxi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Celestino Bermudez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Celestino Bermudez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prudencio Ritchie in the 64th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prudencio Ritchie in the 66th minute of play forced Vallecito's goalkeeper Celestino Bermudez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 74 played minutes Vallecito got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Librado. Vallecito's Celestino Bermudez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cornelio Millano in the 81st minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Joel Fiz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Celestino Bermudez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prudencio Ritchie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mataldi fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vallecito had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
