After 3 played minutes, Larsen AFC's Hector Suero shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Robustiano Peli came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Larsen AFC reached it. Larsen AFC's Cosme Rumaldo got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nunez Atauri in the 7th minute of play forced Larsen AFC's goalkeeper Alvaro Abaunza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nunez Atauri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvaro Abaunza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. If Edgardo Harriet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Melquiades Venceslas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robustiano Peli was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. When Lucio Colon fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. A collision led to Larsen AFC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Delmiro Gines hit a great ball. In the 38th match minute, Larsen AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector Suero to maneuver through the defense. Bruno Nalo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 39th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Larsen AFC's Alvaro Abaunza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Harriet in the 41st minute of play. After 42 played minutes Larsen AFC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Peli. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Melquiades Venceslas to make the kick off. Alvaro Abaunza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nunez Atauri in the 53rd minute of the match. 55 minutes into the match, Larsen AFC's goalkeeper Alvaro Abaunza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgardo Harriet. Robustiano Peli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cosme Rumaldo in the 67th minute of the match. Edgardo Harriet came free with the goalkeeper in the 79th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Alvaro Abaunza could save by the left post. Nunez Atauri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Alvaro Abaunza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Larsen AFC's Isaac Araoz got a free kick in the 88th minute. Humberto Peli's late challenge caught a Atletico Sabinero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Humberto Peli helped the player get up and apologised. Humberto Peli kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Isaac Araoz hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute of the match Bruno Nalo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alvaro Abaunza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Melquiades Venceslas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Larsen AFC had won after a very even match.
