El Gallinero FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eloy Venerando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anier Abarca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Ricardo Bemabe made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Aztore in the 11th minute of play forced El Gallinero FC's goalkeeper Matias Fernendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Txindoki hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute, Benito Jakobe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Anier Abarca came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the El Gallinero FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anier Abarca couldn't finish the play. 45 minutes into the match, Girondo's goalkeeper Ricardo Bemabe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anier Abarca. Ricardo Bemabe didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 47th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gustavo Gar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Matias Fernendo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aurelio Aztore's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. 56 minutes into the match, Girondo's Aurelio Aztore sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Matias Fernendo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Anier Abarca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Bemabe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Blas Beturian's late challenge caught a El Gallinero FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blas Beturian helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of El Gallinero FC booed when Girondo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blas Beturian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paolo Jaunti, 65 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ricardo Bemabe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Venerando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Anier Abarca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Jakobe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Ricardo Bemabe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Aurelio Aztore had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matias Fernendo. El Gallinero FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aurelio Aztore was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. 94 minutes into the match, Girondo's goal looked a bit too open when Eloy Venerando came free, but Ricardo Bemabe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
