In the 20th minute, Leonel Lazcano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Artemio Hitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Rafel having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Victorino Birjaio got free with Rodrigo Ovando in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leonel Lazcano struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Rodrigo Ovando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Leonel Lazcano took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Rodrigo Ovando to make any attempt to save it. The throw-in from Arsenio Bihar in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by River Plate's Teodoro Benino. Mariano Nafarroa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Erasmo Rafel. River Plate's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Prudencio Heriberto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Artemio Hitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Serafin Mikeldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Natalio Abadia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rodrigo Ovando. Ramos Mejia F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Prudencio Heriberto charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Prudencio Heriberto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 59 played minutes Ramos Mejia F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Prudencio Heriberto. Leonel Lazcano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erasmo Rafel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prudencio Heriberto in the 65th minute of play. Erasmo Rafel made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Artemio Hitz sent off a good shot on target. In the 71st minute, Arsenio Bihar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Natalio Abadia hit a great ball. After having played for 89 minutes, Serafin Mikeldi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serafin Mikeldi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodrigo Ovando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorino Birjaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 93rd play minutes Leonel Lazcano shot 4-1, a short shot which went by Rodrigo Ovando and just under the crossbar into goal. Benjamin Urdin struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Rodrigo Ovando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate. When the referee ended the match the River Plate players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
