Keld Paulsen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Carmelo Benavides took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Keld Paulsen to make any attempt to save it. Kenn Skou kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Carmelo Benavides came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denmark's Keld Paulsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmelo Benavides in the 27th minute of play. After 28 played minutes SantaAna got a freekick which was hit by Edgardo Carrillo. Chris Nygaard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Holger Arhenius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The SantaAna fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 38 minutes into the match, SantaAna's Edgardo Carrillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Keld Paulsen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Keld Paulsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carmelo Benavides in the 45th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Holger Arhenius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bertram Svenningsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the match, Felipe Cerna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Keld Paulsen. Denmark's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felipe Cerna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Edgardo Carrillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keld Paulsen having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, SantaAna's goalkeeper Holger Arhenius had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bertram Svenningsen. After having played for 63 minutes, Lars Steen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Denmark's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lars Steen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 65 minutes, Chris Nygaard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Denmark and the SantaAna players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 65 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Chris Nygaard. Keld Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmelo Benavides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th match minute, SantaAna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carmelo Benavides to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Denmark's Bjarne Kirkegaard got a free kick in the 80th minute. If Carmelo Benavides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute, Carmelo Benavides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Carmelo Benavides got the opportunity to take care of a free kick, it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball hit the crossbar and flew out of bounds. Denmark's attentive Lars Steen managed to snatch the ball when Mario Quintanilla made a throw-in in the 88th minute of the game. Edgardo Carrillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Keld Paulsen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgardo Carrillo ran back to his position shaking his head. Mario Quintanilla kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
