An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Caetano in the 6th minute of play forced Guardamonte AFC's goalkeeper Silvano Rio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domingo Donostia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Freddy Ekialde having to make a save. Freddy Ekialde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingo Donostia in the 12th minute of play. Jorge Newbery's Tiburcio Chus got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pablo Caetano might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvano Rio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pablo Caetano ran back to his position shaking his head. Cirilo Abilio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Freddy Ekialde made a huge save. Freddy Ekialde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingo Donostia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cirilo Abilio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Jorge Newbery booed when Guardamonte AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Chepe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Newbery's Tiburcio Chus got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Tiburcio Chus, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 44 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Silvano Rio was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pablo Caetano was the one to do the kick off. Felix Chepe hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. In the 56th match minute, Jorge Newbery was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Piorno to maneuver through the defense. Edgardo Mambru took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Freddy Ekialde. Jorge Newbery's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Guardamonte AFC's Cirilo Abilio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Freddy Ekialde made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Cosme Cordarell didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Guardamonte AFC's Edgardo Mambru broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. Tiburcio Chus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Silvano Rio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvano Rio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pablo Caetano in the 90th minute of the match. After 91 minutes, Ruperto Ur mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guardamonte AFC and the Jorge Newbery players grew even worse after the yellow card.
