After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Leonides Mendebal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cerrito AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonides Mendebal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Donostia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Donostia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enrique Veto in the 11th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Coraceros's goalkeeper Carlos Donostia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonides Mendebal. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Cerrito AFC booed when Coraceros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteve Lonzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After a defensive mix-up in Coraceros's zone, Leonides Mendebal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Donostia came out of the goal and Leonides Mendebal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Donostia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romulo Millano in the 56th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Wilfredo Pietro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Donostia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romulo Millano in the 67th minute of the match. Carlos Donostia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romulo Millano's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. 73 minutes into the match, Coraceros's goal looked a bit too open when Romulo Millano came free, but Carlos Donostia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Donostia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romulo Millano, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
