Celedonio Iratxo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Raul Lluterio might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Celedonio Iratxo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raul Lluterio ran back to his position shaking his head. 27 minutes into the match, Palermo FC's goalkeeper Celedonio Iratxo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Florencio Berbiz. In the 29th minute, Leandro Ermengol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palermo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. A collision led to Club Mártires de Chicago getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Marco Rocendo hit a great ball. Simon Chayo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Florencio Moise sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simon Chayo might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Timoteo Loramendi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Simon Chayo ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Chayo in the 45th minute of play forced Club Mártires de Chicago's goalkeeper Timoteo Loramendi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Raul Lluterio made the kick off in the second half. Celedonio Iratxo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florencio Berbiz in the 51st minute of play. Celedonio Iratxo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raul Lluterio went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raul Lluterio in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celedonio Iratxo saved Palermo FC from getting behind.
